WHY ?: the tectonics plates meet, stresses build up, and earthquakes occure.
WHAT ?: An earthquake registering 6 point on the richter scale was felt throughout half the country three people killed by landslide in the fraijanes-dulce nombre area and one person died of a heart attack in the San Jose area. Many people were injured, many buildings were damaged and landslides blocked roadsin the area. Felt throughout Costa Rica and in southern and central Nicaragua.
